National and international collaboration
The Lega del Filo d'Oro works both at a national and international level. It develops services and collaborates with institutions and organisations which have similar objectives. There is a vital exchange of information and experience and a commitment to organising conferences, workshops and seminars for raising public awareness about multisensory impairment.
The Lega del Filo d'Oro is part of the following organisations:
- Deafblind International.
This is an international association which unites professionals, deafblind people, researchers and administrators who work with the problems of deafblindness.
− CID.UE. The Italian Council for people with a disability and their relationships with the European Union.
− Networks for Usher and Charge Syndromes
− The Euronet MDVI group. This is a group of professionals who are concerned with the development of awareness, understanding and good practice in the education of multisensory impaired babies and young people.
− Vita Editorial Group. This publishes the weekly “Vita no profit” magazine which is completely dedicated to the non-profit world.
In September 2009, the Lega del Filo d'Oro organised the 7the Deafblind International European Conference with the title “Tides, waves and currents in research and action” in Senigallia.
